Rob

Council Member, District E, 2018-
Council President, 2002-2006
Council Member, District E, 1990-2002

Born and raised in Harford County, Rob Wagner was first elected to the Harford County Council in 1990. He was elected as the District E Council Member, representing Churchville, Aberdeen, and Fountain Green. At that time, the district included the Rt. 543 corridor to Rt. I-95 at Belcamp/Riverside and the Perryman peninsula. It was during those twelve years much of the business/commercial locations were established. The former Bata property was redeveloped, Clorox, Rite-Aid, and many more employers established themselves in District E.

Rob was raised on a dairy farm outside Bel Air along Rt. 22. The dairy operation ceased in 1970, and the farm began raising beef cattle and small grain and hay. Rob worked the farm with his best friend/father and business partner for the next 25 years. A large portion of the farm still exists and is actively farmed. A welding fabrication shop and utility trailer sales business supplemented the agricultural income.

Rob graduated Bel Air Senior High School in 1975. He graduated Harford Community College with an AA degree in 1979. Prior to high school graduation and until 1979, Rob worked at the newly-built Fallston General Hospital.

Advancements in agriculture allowed more of the farm to become productive, the herd size was increased, and the welding shop/retail sales was expanded.

Becoming dissatisfied with local politics and Council decisions, Rob chose to run for and won his District E Council bid in 1990. Rob served as Council Vice President many times over those twelve years. He served on the Social Services Board and on the Disability Commission. He worked closely with the Sheriff on new initiatives and with the Detention Center building project. Adequate Public Facilities legislation was formulated and passed. More schools were funded and built during this timeframe than any other to try and keep pace with the growth our county was experiencing.

Rob has one son. In 2005, Rob married his wife Tina and welcomed her three daughters into the family.

Rob served as County Council President from 2002 to 2006. In the years 2002 to present, Rob has been involved with various land development/business ventures creating and building new and refurbishing existing homes.

Prior to his commitment to run for election in 2018, Rob worked brokering freight for a local company.

Rob feels blessed and very proud to serve the people of Harford County over the next four years as the District E Councilman. He brings unmatched knowledge and experience to the Council as well as commitment and dedication to achieve a better Harford County for future generations.
